There's More to Life than increasing its Speed

Mahatma Gandhi

We generally choose the way of “Slow Travel” when we go on holiday anywhere. What does this mean for us?  Very often we stay in one relatively small area of a county or region for the whole time, allowing for a more thorough understanding of the area and becoming more like temporary residents than fleeting visitors. Of course, it also helps that we are retired and that we can avoid the busy (and expensive!) school holiday times.

When possible we travel slowly to our destination, especially when towing our prized Eriba caravan. For instance, we have done the journey from the south east of Spain via France to the UK quite a few times. On those trips we used to treat the journey as a kind of holiday and pitch up for several days so we had the chance to explore interesting, out-of-the way places en route.
